Please find below my foundation portfolio: G321 for my media coursework
My brief was to research, plan, create and evaluate my own music magazine, which I have done so. Please feel  free to navigate my blog using the labels on areas such as Research and Panning, Construction and the Evaluation. I chose to create a music magazine which focuses on  the Alternative Music genre, which includes Punk, Rock and Metal Music.  I chose to name my magazine "Quake" and it is similar to existing real media artifacts such as "Kerrang!" or "NME"

Evaluation Question 2

2. How does your media product use represent particular social groups?

Evaluation Question 3

3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

This is my audience feedback telling me where my audience think my magazine could be sold. Because my magazine is aimed at a specific audience, my magazine won't necessarily fit into  supermarket as this isn't for a mass audience, I believe that my magazine wold be suitably sold in small corner shops or convenience stores as this this way my magazine will only be available for those who want to buy it. My magazine can also be sold in airports or newspapers stands as this way my magazine can be read on various flights and sold instantly. I also believe with today's changing technologies with media formats, my magazine can be sold online such as from a website or on an Ebook as the magazine can again be read more conveniently on the go and cannot get lost or damaged as easily as real magazine. With an online format available to my audience of punk, rock and metal fans I believe my magazine can generate more of  a profit from this.

Evaluation Questions 4 and 5

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?
5. How did you attract/address your audience?

Evaluation Question 6

6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have used many technologies from the process of constructing my magazine's front cover, contents page and double page spread.
The main use of technology software I have used is Blogger as it is where I have posted my entire coursework for my magazine including research and planning, construction and evaluation  I have learnt how to upload posts including photos and analysis. This has also helped me keep track as a diary entry of what I have completed and what I still have to post, so this helps with organisation and time management which are easy marks to achieve

The next piece of software I have used is Serif Page Plus X6 which I have used to construct my magazine over the period of time. I have found that Serif is good at producing high quality products which is perfect for making a music magazine, although it can be tricky to align text in columns so this takes time in producing a piece of work that could mean the difference between a A grade and a C grade.

I have used Photoshop as a way to improve my photos eg cropping, lighting, ect which again helps the images look professional and high quality which will ultimately attract my audience more as they are the ones who are interested in the content of my magazine.

I have used wix.com to help me create a webpage for one of my evaluation questions as a different form of ICT which will hopefully help me gain more marks as I have presented my evaluation differently rather than using a single power point. I have also used other popular sites such as Flickr, Prezi and Voicethread as part of my evaluation.

Final Evaluation Question 7

7. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product?

This is my mind map for how I think I have improved my magazine since the preliminary task. I have covered different areas of this inclduing ways in which I have improevd the magazine it's self such as photos, fonts, structure ect. I have also included reasearch and ket notes from Kerrang! an existing magazine with the same genre of mine; music from punk, rock and metal. I have also learnt time management and organistion through software such as blogger as this is what I have learnt the most since the begining of the courswork, I and I believe this has shown throughout.
